There is a high-profile resignation in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine
The head of the National Police of Ukraine, Sergei Knyazev, resigned, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He announced this today at a press conference.
"I love my job very much. This is truly my life’s work, to which I devoted 28 years. But I decided to resign. And I just returned, having handed over to the Minister of Internal Affairs a statement about my dismissal from office,” Knyazev said.
Let us remind you that the replacement of the leadership has begun in the National Police of Ukraine - two deputy heads of the department, Sergei Knyazev, have already been dismissed from their positions.
As PolitNavigator reported, on September 23, rumors spread on social networks about the detention of the ex-wife of the head of the National Police of Ukraine Sergei Knyazev, as well as three other people at a checkpoint on the Polish border with 650 thousand euros that were not declared. Knyazev denied information about the detention of his ex-wife on the border with Poland.
Interestingly, Ukrainian media reported that Knyazev’s resignation was a done deal back in early September. It’s as if Knyazev’s resignation letter was on Arsen Avakov’s desk two weeks ago.
