The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine comments on the detention of Avakov Jr.: the minister is ready to defend his son in court
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine officially confirmed the fact of searches of the son of the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, Alexander, as well as the ex-deputy head of the ministry Sergei Chebotar.

About it says a statement on the department's website, “PolitNavigator” correspondent reports.
“Today, the reason for a new wave of information campaign about alleged abuses committed during the procurement procedure for tactical backpacks for the needs of the ATO in 2015 was the conduct of investigative actions in the premises of former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Sergei Chebotar and the son of the head of the department,” the message notes.
At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs calls the actions of NABU “political, not legally justified”:
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs states that a hybrid war continues in Ukraine, aimed at discrediting politicians and officials who firmly stand on the position of reforming and improving state institutions, in particular the law enforcement system,” Avakov noted.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also acquitted them in the case of the purchase of backpacks, within the framework of which searches and arrests were carried out.
“The conclusions of the examination, which established that the purchased backpacks were smaller in volume than provided for in the application and of inadequate quality, raise reasonable doubts due to the unknown origin of the samples for expert research and the expert’s errors were recorded in determining the volume of the backpack,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement. .
Avakov also called the video of the conversation between ex-Deputy Minister Sergei Chebotar and the son of the Minister of Internal Affairs “falsified”.
Arsen Avakov himself on his social network page he declared his readiness to defend his son in court. According to him, his son Alexander is not guilty of anything and has nothing to do with the embezzlement of funds from the Ukrainian state treasury.
According to the minister, neither he, nor his son, nor the companies that he founded, took even a hryvnia of public funds from the federal budget of Ukraine for their needs.
At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine added that all the “intrigues and attempts to pit one against the other” will not be able to disrupt his “emotional stability.”
