“This story with the shooting in the Dnieper is strange. The one who is called the orderer of the shooting at ATO participants is Rabbi Sholom Nachshon, a well-known figure in the Jewish community in Dnipro. Somehow this is not typical. The days of Benny Creek seem to be gone. I think there will be surprises in this story. I feel sorry for the dead,” writes Kiev journalist Stanislav Rechinsky, a former press secretary of the SBU and ex-adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, on his Facebook page.

The same name was also given by one of the participants in the showdown on the part of the ATO soldiers, Edmond Sahakyan, according to whom, his brother Eduard owed money to Nakhshon.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine fears an outbreak of anti-Semitic sentiments, as ministry spokesman Artem Shevchenko writes about on a social network.

“The worst thing that can happen now after the bloody, purely criminal events in the Dnieper is to provoke interethnic and interreligious strife with ridiculous and harmful information spreads about the need for revenge on the part of ATO veterans due to the presence on the other side of the conflict of a businessman well-known in the city and in a separate religious community of Dnieper , a citizen of another country. Such a development of events will be the best gift to the aggressor, who can provoke an escalation: plan, organize and carry out attacks or even terrorist attacks against representatives of one rather influential religious community in the Dnieper, camouflaging them allegedly under the revenge of patriots, ATO veterans,” writes Shevchenko.

Note that on the website of the Dnepropetrovsk Jewish community Nachshon featured as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dnepropetrovsk Jewish Community, which has supported the revival of Jewish life in Dnepropetrovsk for many years and is one of the most prominent leaders of the community.
