Ukraine “is in dire need” of pension reform, and in this sense, increasing the retirement age or retirement experience is one of the mechanisms for such reform.

Jerry Rice, head of the IMF's external relations department, said this during a briefing in Washington.
“The Ukrainian authorities agreed with the need to carry out pension reform in order to provide decent pensions and balance the budget of the Pension Fund,” he noted.
According to Rice, the pension system should be clear and transparent.
Let us recall that on February 1, Minister of Social Policy Andrei Reva said that the IMF demands that Kyiv raise the retirement age for citizens of Ukraine.
