People's Deputy Victoria Syumar announced this on her Facebook page.
“Mateichenko’s bill is his personal initiative and was not discussed at the faction meeting. Deputies have the right of legislative initiative and use it. This is a private initiative of the deputy, I assure you. No discussions in the NF at any level,” Syumar noted.
According to her, the faction intends to ask Mateichenko to withdraw this bill.
“Criminal punishment for any criticism is unacceptable. Mateichenko is a military commander who has done a lot to protect the country since the beginning of Russian aggression, but we will explain these things to him and convince him to withdraw the bill in order to remove the provision on criminal punishment,” Syumar added.
