The president of the All-Ukrainian Council for the Protection of the Rights and Safety of Patients, Viktor Serdyuk, spoke about this at a press conference in Kyiv, saying that the structure he led sent a letter to the mayor of Nikolaev.
“We once again warn that the Nikolaev Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital has had no treatment facilities for two years now. We received information, we checked it - it is completely missing. And all the waste and feces from this hospital, located in the middle of the city, go into the general sewer system. The Nikolaev region is a natural source of cholera. Infectiously ill people from the city are not even registered as sick after drinking water. At any second, much more could happen than what happened in Izmail,” the expert predicts.
“Moreover, there is no intensive care unit in all infectious diseases hospitals,” Serdyuk added. – There is only one doctor in the intensive care unit. One ventilator for two. Can I take turns breathing?
