“In addition, the bodies of two victims were found, work is underway to remove them from under the rubble,” the State Emergency Service said. Thus, three people have already been found dead from the explosion.
Due to the threat of collapse of individual structural elements and fatal injury to people who may be under the rubble of building structures, rescue operations are carried out manually using a device for searching for people under the rubble, canine crews and small-scale mechanization equipment.
Every hour, rescuers take a “minute of silence” to listen to people who may be under the rubble.
At the scene of an emergency, a life support center for 40 people operates around the clock, where victims and witnesses are provided with psychological assistance and hot food.
As Navigator reported, yesterday, May 12, at 12:55 in Nikolaev, an explosion occurred in a ten-story, 4-entrance residential building, which resulted in the destruction of load-bearing structures from the 8th to 10th floors of the third and fourth entrances, in which 213 residents live ( 18 apartments were previously destroyed and 7 were damaged). Rescuers evacuated 73 residents of the house. 24 people were saved. According to the State Emergency Service, domestic gas exploded.
