Several dozen people in embroidered shirts with national symbols and banners lined up in a chain and chanted: “There is only one – a conciliar Ukraine.” Homemade signs with the new name were hung on the houses.
“We need to get rid of the Soviet legacy, especially since this is our historical name. I believe that we don’t need to stop there and we need to rename Lenin Square and Lenin Avenue too,” said one of the activists.
As Navigator reported, earlier the Poltava Regional State Administration issued an order to destroy all “communist symbols.”
