Nikolaev University of Shipbuilding named after Admiral Makarov failed the admission campaign in 2018 - only 1 people became full-time 331st year students at the university this year, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to information from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, this year NUS has opened a licensed volume for admission to the bachelor's program of 4280 students. Thus, the number of school graduates admitted to this university this year is only 7,7% of the licensed volume.
At the same time, most of the students entered not the specialized specialties for this university, but the humanities. Thus, 31 people entered the specialty “Physical Education and Sports”, 32 people – the specialty “Philology”, 19 – “Management” and 18 – “Law”.
Meanwhile, in the specialty “Shipbuilding”, out of 710 places, only 16 were occupied, and in the specialty “Power Engineering” only 4 people out of a licensed volume of 440 places became students. This year, no one entered the specialty “Shiphull Engineering” for the 1st year at the Admiral Makarov National University of Culture.
In total, as of today, according to the Unified State Electronic Database on Education, 3591 students are receiving education at the Admiral Makarov National Educational Institution.
