In the Nikolaev region, officials stole money for the purchase of electronic textbooks for schools
The SBU exposed officials of the Nikolaev regional council, the Department of Education and Science of the regional state administration and one of the local utility companies for misappropriating 15 million hryvnia of budget funds intended for schools in the region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

In accordance with the Education Development Program of the Nikolaev Region for 2017-2021, the state provides students with free and free access to online textbooks and educational methodological textbooks.
“Representatives of government and local self-government unlawfully contributed funds to the budget expenditures for the purchase of e-textbooks. In collusion with two commercial structures that specialize in providing software services, officials groundlessly held a tender and transferred funds to firms to purchase access codes to electronic resources. In this way, the attackers withdrew 15 million hryvnia from the budget and appropriated it,” the message says.
As part of criminal proceedings, searches continue at the places of work, residence and cars of those involved in the case. Seals, documentation and electronic media containing information about the transactions of the attackers were seized. Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the misappropriation of budget funds.
