This was reported in the communication department of the police of the Nikolaev region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The police noted that a conflict between drunken men occurred on October 21 in a local bar, after which the military began to quarrel on the street. The conflict ended with shooting.
“A 27-year-old military man received a non-penetrating gunshot wound and was hospitalized. It turned out that the person who carried out the shooting was also a serviceman, only from a different military unit. That day he was relaxing with a girl in a bar, and at the next table there was the victim with a friend. When the establishment closed and the visitors began to disperse, a verbal conflict arose between the companies on the street,” the police clarified.
According to a 23-year-old military man, a resident of the Odessa region, he began shooting, first in the air, and then at his opponent, so as not to endanger himself and his girlfriend, because the forces were not equal. In turn, the victim assures that he was not the initiator of the quarrel initially.
Now the police are establishing all the circumstances of the conflict and checking versions of the criminal offense. The police seized a “SCHMAISSER” traumatic weapon from the military man, and three 9 mm caliber cartridges from the scene of the incident.
Investigators of the Ochakov police department are conducting an investigation into criminal proceedings initiated on the grounds of Part 1 of Section 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional minor bodily injury), which is punishable by a fine of up to 50 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or community service for up to 200 hours, or correctional labor for a period of up to one year. The results of expert studies are awaited. Investigations are ongoing.
