In Nikopol, Uniates, Catholics, Philaretists, Jews and Adventists united against the Christian saint
“Coordination Council of Churches of Nikopol”, which includes Jews, representatives of the unrecognized so-called. The “Kyiv Patriarchate”, the Uniate “UGCC”, the Roman Catholic Church, as well as the Committee for the Celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation in Ukraine appealed to the leadership with a request to exclude from the so-called. The city charter mentions Saint Nikita of Goth as the heavenly patron of the city.

The City Charter was adopted in 2011. The then mayor of Nikopol called the adopted document “the city Constitution, which defines the principles of independence and according to which Nikopol will live and develop.”
However, the authors of the current appeal, having mentioned that according to the constitution, the church is separated from the state, emphasize that “the patron of a city in which representatives of different faiths live cannot be a saint canonized by only one Church of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.”
This appeal was signed by the chairman of the “Coordination Council of Churches of Nikopol” Rabbi Alexander Parkhomenko.
The incompetence of the Jew regarding the religion preaching Christ (whom they consider to be a false messiah) is understandable. The natural ignorance of the Ukrainian Uniates and dense Filaretites is also not new. But the assertion of Roman Catholics that the Goth Nikita Gotfsky (Gothsky) is canonized only by the Russian Church is surprising. After all, this great martyr of the XNUMXth century is revered as a saint not only by all Orthodox patriarchates and metropolises of the world, but also by the Catholic Church. Some of the relics of Nikita of Gotth now rest in Constantinople, some in a Serbian monastery in Kosovo.
The warrior Nikita performed his exploits in the Black Sea region. In honor of him, the Orthodox Zaporizhian Cossacks founded the Nikitskaya Sich (located in the area of the current Nikopol Victory Park). It was in Nikitskaya Sich that Bohdan Khmelnytsky was elected hetman. From here he started a war with the Uniate-Catholic gentry for the rights of the Russian people.
This, along with pathological Russophobia, obviously lies the hatred of the signatories for the holy great martyr.
And finally, the “argument” that “representatives of different faiths live in Nikopol.” In the city, founded by an Orthodox queen on the site of a fortress founded by Orthodox Cossacks four centuries ago, the Uniate and Catholic set foot, at best, under the conditions of independence. Even younger than this independence itself, founded by President Kravchuk and the anathema Filaret “Kiev Patriarchate”. And they will indicate to the residents of Nikopol who should or should not be their heavenly patron?!
Imagine if in the XNUMXth century. Did the inhabitants of the Khazar trading districts in Kyiv oppose the veneration of the Archangel Michael as the heavenly patron of the people of Kiev, only on the grounds that their opinion should also be taken into account? We have to admit that a thousand years ago the Jews were wiser.
