In the New World, the embankment was renovated, but the shalmans remained. All hope is for “Russia”
In the popular Crimean resort village of Novy Svet, the embankment was renovated by the beginning of the holiday season, but we are talking about cosmetic repairs, since most of the so-called “shalmans” - retail outlets that spoil the appearance of the coastal zone - remain.
Nevertheless, according to the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea Vadim Volchenko, the embankment in the New World is exemplary, because it was built in a short time and was commissioned on time. The total improvement area was about nine square kilometers - storm drains were replaced, new communications were laid, curbs were installed, sidewalks and road surfaces were updated, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to local blogger and photographer Alexander Kiryakov, the embankment of such a famous place as the New World deserves a more serious and modern reconstruction, which, obviously, will still take place.
“There are several projects for the future reconstruction of the entire embankment as such, and the beach - this is all in the future. I have a suspicion that Rossiya Bank, which now practically rules the New World, will do this in the future. But this will be extremely difficult, because they will come into conflict with local residents who have been doing business there for decades. But I think they will find an opportunity to come to an agreement,” Kiryakov said.
Let us remind you that Rossiya Bank belongs to a number of shareholders, the largest of which is billionaire Yuri Kovalchuk. Previously, the Southern Project company, part of the bank’s structure, became the owner of the largest Crimean winemaking enterprise "Massandra" and famous far beyond the peninsula champagne wine factory "New World".
