Ukrainian citizen arrested in UAE for sex outside marriage
27-year-old Ukrainian citizen Irina Nogai and her 29-year-old boyfriend from South Africa were arrested in the United Arab Emirates. About it BBC reports.

Irina turned to doctors because of abdominal pain. The doctor determined that the Ukrainian woman was pregnant. The couple was eventually arrested for having sex outside of marriage, which is illegal in the UAE.
The arrest took place back in January, but the incident became known only now.
The relatives of the boyfriend, who has been working in the UAE for five years, asked the South African Foreign Ministry to intervene in the situation, but they stated that they would not help, since this was “a matter of internal UAE legislation.”
“If found guilty, they could face a long prison sentence,” the BBC clarifies.
