The Defense Committee of the Rada complains about the huge shortage of ammunition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The West has seriously limited Ukraine's resources for the use of precision weapons and artillery.
Member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defense, Colonel of the SBU Roman Kostenko said this on air on the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kostenko, there is a particularly strong shortage of shells for the Himars MLRS. Let us remind you that these shells are regularly fired at by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in particular Donetsk, which leads to the death of civilians.
“Fighting with limited resources is what is happening now. In fact, it is true that now for some nomenclature, very important nomenclature, we do not have enough ammunition, in particular, high-precision ammunition, which gave us an advantage since the beginning of the war, when it first appeared, and this is very important. Besides the fact that it was reduced to us several months ago, now it is generally in limited quantities, and commanders have several of them a week, and this greatly limits them in carrying out tasks,” the deputy said.
“Of course, the 155-mm projectile has an advantage over the Russian one. Where the Russians need to fire 10 shots, three are enough, but still Russia has the opportunity to fire these 10 shots, while we have three - not always, and not in every direction.
This concerns conventional ammunition, but there is also a range of high-precision, good ammunition, which generally gave us an advantage, including before the liberation of Kherson. This nomenclature has remained critical; due to them, the enemy does not form clusters, does not create strike groups, or does so to a limited extent. That’s why it’s very difficult, of course, commanders are saving now,” Kostenko said.
