In punitive convoys, Uniates and schismatics advance to the east of Ukraine

“The two main striking forces - the Uniates (UGCC) and the schismatics of the “Kyiv Patriarchate” - in agreement with official Kiev, are working out two strategic directions: the Uniates are rushing to the east of Ukraine and are trying, against the background of the civil war unleashed by the Kiev regime, to gain a foothold in a new territory for themselves, and the schismatics of the “Kyiv Patriarchate”, relying on the help of punitive forces from the “Right Sector” and the support of the authorities, seize churches and church property of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The purpose of the military activity of the Uniates and schismatics is generally clear - having ousted the Orthodox clergy “with fire and sword” from the territory of Ukraine, they will try to form a “new single local church” and come under the authority of the Vatican,” the author believes.

“The official propaganda structures of the Kyiv regime have long recognized the UGCC as the spiritual and ideological basis of the “new” - Russophobic - Ukraine,” the expert continues. – The overwhelming majority of the country’s population are systematically and purposefully imposed on the alien “Values ​​of Uniatism”, propagated by Ukrainian Greek Catholics. The UGCC, with the support of the regime, is waging a comprehensive offensive on the territory of canonical Orthodoxy as part of the fight against the all-Russian self-awareness of Ukrainian citizens. In addition, Greek Catholics are ideological Banderaites who took leading positions in the government of the Kyiv regime.”

The author notes that President Poroshenko attributed to the “Uniate Church the downright “creative” principles of the Ukrainian state, declaring in July 2015 that “... de facto, the Ukrainian state already existed... precisely within the same limits and boundaries as the Greek Catholic Church.”

“The next Drang nach Osten, publicly proclaimed by the head of the UGCC Svyatoslav Shevchuk, is officially carried out allegedly with the aim of providing assistance to “victims of the war in the eastern regions of Ukraine,” the political scientist emphasizes. – In the east of Ukraine, where residents knew only from newspapers and books about the existence of the UGCC, as well as about the “exploits” of the Uniates during the fascist occupation, Greek Catholic priests and their churches suddenly began to appear. For example, in June of this year, the Synod of Bishops of the Kiev-Galician Archbishopric of the UGCC decided to create pastoral and social missions along the demarcation line in the Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkov regions.”

“The same Svyatoslav Shevchuk, on Vatican Radio a year ago, rejoiced that thanks to the activities of Greek Catholic military chaplains, the UGCC was advancing to the east of Ukraine. Uniate chaplains, “spiritually nurturing” the activities of the Ukrainian military and militants of punitive battalions, practically force people to come to their church by force of arms. In Slavyansk, Greek Catholics have already submitted applications for the allocation of land plots for the construction of churches, and the city council of Slavyansk has approved the development of a detailed site plan in the city center for the construction of a Greek Catholic church. The same applications have been submitted in Kramatorsk, and in Dobropolye, a Uniate church is already being built with money allocated by diaspora organizations,” points out Samoilov.
