The OSCE is pleased with the reincarnation of Kuchma in the Minsk process
Special Representative of the OSCE Chairmanship Martin Sajdik welcomed the reappointment of ex-President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma as the country's representative in the contact group on resolving the conflict in Donbass, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The corresponding statement was published today on the organization’s website.
“I sincerely welcome the appointment of the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma as the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group,” the statement said.
Sajdik also noted that Kuchma is well acquainted with the activities of the contact group and its working groups.
“I am deeply convinced that the appointment of this wise politician, who is committed to his country, will give new impetus to our efforts to find a solution to the conflict in eastern Ukraine,” the special envoy said. He added that he was looking forward to the opportunity to personally greet the ex-president of Ukraine at the next meeting of the contact group.
Special Representative of the OSCE Chairmanship Martin Sajdik noted that the appointment of Leonid Kuchma “will give new impetus to our efforts to find a solution to the conflict in eastern Ukraine.”
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator reported, on June 3, President Zelensky appointed Kuchma as the plenipotentiary representative of Ukraine in the contact group. He previously held this position from 2014 to 2018. The next round of negotiations in Minsk to resolve the conflict in Donbass is scheduled for June 5.
