This was stated by the acting head of the Main Apartment Operations Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Cherginets.
“Today, the waiting list for military personnel for housing is 46 people... If we talk about the regions where there are the greatest problems with providing housing for military personnel, these are Kiev (300 thousand people) and the Kiev region, Odessa region, Lviv, Kherson and Nikolaev regions” , said the official.
In addition, he added that a new concept for providing housing for Ukrainian military personnel is being developed.
“If we talk about the approach to the issue of military personnel in need of improved housing conditions, a bill on the social protection of military personnel is currently under consideration in ministries and departments. Its concept is that military personnel during their service are provided with permanent housing only after reaching 20 years of service by providing one-time cash assistance. By this time, conscripts will live in barracks with improved accommodation, and for officers, ideally they will receive housing depending on their position, which is not subject to privatization,” he concluded.
