At the end of January, a scandal erupted around school No. 275. A group of parents of students from this school reported extortion from the parent committee, which allegedly demanded money from parents for educating their children in a public school, the Information Center reports.
The parents' committee and the school director reject these accusations and call them unfounded. “If we are talking about corruption, then why do many families even outside the microdistrict want to study at Nadezhda?” said director Tatyana Tararaka.
The director does not deny that parents provide financial assistance to the educational institution, but assures that all donations are purely voluntary, and the parent committee manages the funds.
The teachers tried to explain this whole situation while talking to the press.
“The head of the media center, Alena Balaba, who unceremoniously interrupted the speakers from the very beginning of the press conference, by the end switched to insults against teachers, parents and even children,” the publication writes.
“You sat on your asses for 23 years. You didn’t go to the Maidan. And now you are forced to pay $50 more. You are adults, sick people. I'm ashamed for you. Your children are growing up disabled. They are moral monsters. Because you teach them double standards. What is it when a teacher says that he does not take money, but builds mansions. These people have been destroying the Maidan since March,” she said, accusing the teachers of working for the FSB.
“Who do you work for? To the FSB? - Those present answered her, accusing her of inciting discord with her antics with the St. George’s ribbon.
