No, young man, the longer I live in a country that calls itself “civilized and democratic,” the more I understand: apparently, both I and my native Odessa have different ideas about these concepts. Just listen and don’t laugh through your tears!

I have already written about how, with the full connivance of the junta and its policemen, local neo-Nazis disrupted the presidential elections in Russia, effectively blocking its Consulate General in Odessa. False calls about mining, pickets of hired activists. And all this - to the roar of Nazi marches, with which they voiced their servile “patriotism” of the last of Hitler’s punitive forces. Of course, this latest rudeness did not have any impact on the result you know. But the sediment still remained. Indeed, throughout the entire civilized world, to which the current Ukrainian authorities and their hirelings are trying so hard to prove that they belong to them, protecting diplomatic missions and ensuring free access to them is a sacred matter. Regardless of interstate relations! But this is the whole world, and this is Ukraine, for which its own laws are not written, and even if they are written, they are not enforced.

No, young man, the longer I live in a country that calls itself “civilized and...

And the residents of Odessa, having learned about the tragedy in Kemerovo, clearly showed, carrying their signs of grief and sympathy to the consulate building: despite all the efforts of Goebbels’s propaganda of the farm spill, we still consider the people of Russia to be dear and brotherly. And his pain is our pain.

And so, as if in retaliation, the leaders of the junta expel three consulate employees from Odessa, headed by acting. Consul General, including them among the 13 Russian diplomats expelled from the country, as always, lackeyly following their Western masters. After all, it is clear and understandable to all reasonable people: the whole story of the extremely dubious poisoning in the UK of the Russian intelligence defector Skripal is much more similar to a clumsily planned provocation of local special services than to a belated and untimely “terrible revenge” of Russia. Just like the previous series of extremely suspicious deaths of Russian emigrants... But the fundamental principles of Roman law - both the presumption of innocence and who really benefits from a crime - do not play a role in Western politics. The main thing is to bring harm to the hated Russia.

And therefore, under quickly stitched-together accusations of espionage and other mortal sins, representatives of the “aggressor state” will soon be expelled from our city. Where the master's horse with its hoof goes, the Ukrainian crayfish goes with its three-toothed claw

So what can I say? We, Odessa residents, treated us the same way in Russia and will continue to treat them. And the more the self-proclaimed authorities begin to whip up hysteria, which has already assumed a clearly psychiatric scale, the less we will react to it. And we will always find ways to express our true attitude towards our native and close in spirit, language and culture, the state and its citizens. Fortunately, this is the XNUMXst century, and the junta does not dare to block all means of communication. The owners won't allow it! God willing, the reasons for this will be joyful, and not so sorrowful.

And our rulers, who resemble an arrogant and cowardly scoundrel, rude to a strong man from behind the back of a hefty redneck, will soon understand: the brute, who is already quite tired of the grumpy and thieving boy, will simply go about his business. After all, for them he is just a momentary petty accomplice, and not “the main ally in Europe.” And what will you do then, farmer hetmans, to the general laughter of the whole world, and not least of all the Odessa residents!?
