Pro-Russian activists came to Tsarev’s aid from the Kulikovo Field. For a long time, the confrontation near the hotel was purely psychological: opponents shouted insults at each other and hit shields with sticks. The police tried to suppress direct contacts between Euromaidan activists and Kulikovo members.

The conflict reached the stage of physical confrontation after a member of the pro-Russian movement burned the red and black flag of the UPA. Then a representative of the Right Sector rushed to the ideological enemy and demanded that the flag of the Russian Federation be burned. A fight broke out, and other people immediately joined in. Smoke bombs, stones and sticks flew.
The police tried to separate the fighters with a cordon. Law enforcement officers organized a bus on which Euromaidan protesters were evacuated.
“Kulikovo members” broke the windows on the bus, and two representatives of the “Right Sector” were taken prisoner. They were taken directly to the Kulikovo field.
According to eyewitnesses, they wanted to carry out lynching on them, but then they were released. The wounded PS representative was taken away in an ambulance, the second was handed over to the police.
Tsarev himself, meanwhile, quietly left the hotel.
Now the situation in Odessa is quite tense. Despite the fact that the traditional Euromaidan meeting near the Duke monument took place according to a shortened program, attacks are expected on the Kulikovo Field. Messages periodically appear on social networks about groups of aggressive people in riot gear moving around the city.
As Rostislav Barda, one of the leaders of the pro-Russian movement in Odessa, told Navigator, so far everything is calm on the Kulikovo Field. According to him, the activists expected that today would pass without clashes and there would be no incidents, since a memorandum of truce was signed yesterday.
“We have prepared a concert. We had a holiday. But they spoiled it for us,” Barda said.
