An Italian was caught in Odessa, hiding from Interpol due to tax evasion

The SBU detained in Odessa an Italian citizen who was internationally wanted for fraud and tax evasion.

This was reported by the press center of the SBU.

According to Italian law enforcement officials, the man did not transfer almost 180 million euros to the budget in the period from 2007-2014.

First he was put on the state wanted list in Italy, and in September 2014 he was put on the international wanted list through Interpol channels.

The Italian's whereabouts were found out by counterintelligence officers of the SBU. They detained him.

The Italian citizen was handed over to representatives of the National Police, who detained him in accordance with Art. 208 and art. 582 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine. He is awaiting extradition proceedings.
