Odessa Self-Defense reports this on its Facebook page.
“We just found out that Mikola Volkov (centurion) from the AKSM organization, who was with us on May 2 and defended our city from separatism, has died! Eternal memory!” the message says.
The cause of death of centurion Mikola is not known. Let us note that in mid-June, supporters of the Odessa Euromaidan collected money for the treatment of centurion Mikola.
Let us recall that Nikolai Volkov, aka “centurion Mykol,” took an active part in the events of May 2: in the afternoon, during the events on Grecheskaya, he discussed the situation with a certain high-ranking interlocutor, and later, already on the Kulikovo field, he fired from a pistol (in his own words - traumatic) on the windows of the House of Trade Unions.
On May 27, law enforcement officers detained Volkov. He was charged with a crime under Article 294 Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “Organizing mass riots.” However, after the demands of Euromaidan activists who picketed the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kyiv, the Pechersky Court of Kyiv changed the preventive measure for him, releasing him from the pre-trial detention center and sending him under house arrest.
