A bas-relief of Marshal Zhukov was demolished in Odessa
This morning, radicals from the National Corps began dismantling the bas-relief of Georgy Zhukov. A memorial plaque to the Marshal of Victory, who crushed fascism, the undead UPA, as well as post-war banditry in Odessa, was installed on the building of the Primorsky military registration and enlistment office (now the commissariat) on Kanatnaya Street, 87 next to the regional administration.
When a crowd of Odessa residents gathered around the ongoing outrage, the “bulls” guarding the vandal introduced themselves as members of the National Corps, made faces “at the cameras” and did not hesitate to say that nothing would happen to them, since the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov personally looked after them.
Outraged people called the police, and only the representatives of law and order were presented with a document according to which permission to dismantle the bas-relief of Marshal Zhukov was given by the head of the apartment maintenance department of Odessa, Lieutenant Colonel Konyukhov, as part of decommunization.
Odessa residents who disagreed with what was happening (ordinary passers-by and those arriving at the scene based on messages from social networks) demanded that the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, come to talk with the vandals. People repeatedly called the mayor's hotline, but did not receive an adequate answer.
At the moment, the memorial plaque has been uprooted and sent to the Odessa Military History Museum.
As for the participation of the military in the act of vandalism, they admitted that they themselves initiated the dismantling of the bas-relief by appealing to marginalized Nazis. Previously, there were no reports in the media about the impending barbarity. Although such a significant figure on a global, and not a Ukrainian-farming scale, as Marshal Zhukov, cannot be sent to the dustbin of history by stupid fascists - like the monument to Catherine the Great, which Odessa residents defended in court.
Also, as confirmation, each of the residents of Odessa will assure that at any time of the year - in the heat and frost - there were fresh flowers lying near the bas-relief of the great Soviet commander.
Thank you!
