The governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, hastened to express his support for the affected cafe, who announced plans to drink coffee in the establishment this evening, and also emphasized the need to install CCTV cameras on the streets of the city.
“Such criminal activities are, first of all, quite easy to carry out due to the very poor night lighting in Odessa. This evening we will discuss with the mayor the program for street lighting in Odessa and turning Odessa into a “City of Light”, and we must also urgently install cameras on all streets and in crowded places. Together with the new patrol, which will start operating in August, and with the new leadership of the Internal Affairs Directorate, we will be able to restore order,” Saakashvili wrote on his page on the social network.
