In Odessa, Ukrainian security forces will record from the air the faces of participants in anti-fascist actions
In Odessa, security forces tested technologies for recognizing the faces of protesters using drones. The head of the regional National Police, Ruslan Forostyak, stated this in his blog.
According to him, trial tests of the complex supplied from Kyiv were carried out on Kulikovo Field, where the police were able to recognize the identities of 30 people in a few minutes.

“Today, about 25-30 people gathered on Kulikovo Field in Odessa from among the visitors who go there almost every Sunday. Taking advantage of the opportunity, a group arrived there, equipped with a special new complex, which was provided to us from Kyiv for the duration of the May war. This modern complex makes it possible, using an unmanned drone, to fly around the scene of events and digitize everyone’s face, register and establish their identity online.
Today, the identification of all the persons lasted only a few minutes, we are delighted with the result, even our colleagues from the OSCE were identified who were in civilian clothes.
We plan to use this complex on May 2 and 9 and have high hopes for it,” Forostyak said.
