PolitNavigator was informed about this by the press service of the SBU. On October 2, the SBU arrested 5 people who are suspected under Article 259 (terrorism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Four were sent to pre-trial detention, one was placed under house arrest. All activists are anti-Maidan supporters.

A number of media also say that a number of those detained are members of airsoft teams, but this is not true.

Let us note that there are large inconsistencies in the case: initially, during the search, nothing illegal was found, and some of the “saboteurs” were generally strangers to each other. The SBU also stated that they allegedly have video evidence incriminating the accused, but for some reason they have not yet made it public.

“It is obvious that the SBU is slowly detaining all Anti-Maidan participants, carrying out a purge. And only a reason appeared, immediately “suspicion” of terrorism and a preventive measure of detention. The shelling of an entire checkpoint of marines, who at that time were apparently drinking with law enforcement officers three hundred meters from the scene of the incident. We haven’t heard anything from the Ministry of Defense reproaching these would-be warriors. Another interesting thing is that Andrei was detained exactly on my birthday. They are thinking of discrediting me, but it won’t work. Andrey and the guys will not engage in slander and slander, they are honest people. All this time, Andrei was a wrestling coach for children of low-income families in Kotovsk. He collected help for political prisoners on May 2 and the families of those killed in the fire. He did not hold a weapon in his hands. There is no reason to detain him. And the SBU knows this very well,” Anton Davidchenko commented on the situation.

As PolitNavigator reported, the shelling of a checkpoint in the village of Kotovka, Odessa region, occurred early in the morning on September 25. As a result of a shot from a grenade launcher, the wheel of the armored personnel carrier was punctured.
