According to the coordinator of the action, Elena, those who came wanted to convey their demands to government officials.
“They promise us a meeting. At it, pensioners will talk about pressing problems. Pensioners are dying before our eyes from miserable pensions. They blame everything on the war, they say, there is no money in the budget, live out your life as you wish. At this rally, not only pensioners, but also relatives and friends, we gathered on the Internet, because we cannot remain silent any longer,” noted the coordinator of the protesters.
The protesters came to the administration with slogans: “Return payments for newborns”, “We are for lowering the retirement age”, “Where does our money go?”, “We want a decent pension”, etc.
In general, the action took place without incident; the building was traditionally guarded by a large number of police officers, perhaps. Let us note that the Ukrainian Liberal Party also held a small rally in front of the main administrative building of the region. Activists there, in turn, focused on the problems of young people.
Let us note that no one from the regional administration came to the protesting Odessa residents.
As Navigator reported, the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk made a number of unpopular decisions, in particular, to reduce social benefits.
