In the Odessa region, a farmer “squeezed out” a piece of a military training ground from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine
In the Odessa region, the Ministry of Defense is fighting for the return of the lands of the Tarutino military training ground, the struggle for which has lasted more than 10 years, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The Tarutinsky combined arms training ground in the Odessa region is a land plot of military town No. 11 with a total area of 24,2 thousand hectares. At one time, a landfill site with an area of 23,2 hectares, contrary to the requirements of land legislation and without the consent of the Ministry of Defense, was transferred to the reserve lands of the Veselodolinsky village council.
The Ministry of Defense notes that the work to return the lands of the Tarutino military training ground is systematic and has been going on for more than 10 years. The problem is that already in 2012, the Tarutino district state administration illegally leased 11 thousand hectares of land to farms at a price three to four times lower than the market price.
Recently, representatives of the prosecutor's office arrived at the illegally transferred landfill sites and found 4 combine harvesters at the scene of the events, which were harvesting crops.
“In order to identify through investigative means the persons who committed illegal actions, measures were taken to inspect the scene of the incident and equipment, as well as interrogate the relevant persons. However, more than 40 people armed with firearms and bladed weapons arrived at the scene in 12 SUVs and cars,” the report says.
The armed persons refused to identify themselves and began to physically interfere with the investigative actions. Further, unknown persons threatened with physical violence and murder both the employees of the prosecutor's office and the military personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces present.
On June 16, the military prosecutor's office of the Odessa garrison registered 3 criminal proceedings under the articles “Resistance to a law enforcement officer,” “Threat of murder against a law enforcement officer,” and “Threat against an official.”
