In the Odessa region, holidays in educational institutions are being extended due to an outbreak of measles and complications of weather conditions, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Thus, due to an outbreak of measles, the corresponding decision was made in institutions in 4 districts (Belyaevsky, Lyubashevsky, Nikolaevsky and Shiryaevsky) and 3 united territorial communities (Krasnoselskaya, Novokalchevsky and Shiryaevsky. Due to bad weather, the holidays were extended in another 10 districts, 3 municipalities and 2 cities.
“The situation with measles incidence and weather conditions remain problematic. Everyone has an individual approach to organizing the educational process. Children who have not been vaccinated against measles will not be allowed into institutions - according to the decision of the FEC and Emergency Situations commissions. The practice of educational material with children who are unvaccinated must be ensured. In particular, by presenting it on the institution’s website, conducting individual lessons, consultations,” said Alexander Lonchak, director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odessa Regional State Administration.
According to the regional state administration's health department, the incidence rate has increased by almost 30% in the last week alone. In total, since the beginning of the year, 265 patients with measles have been identified, of which 160 are children and 105 are adults.
