Mine sweepers from four NATO countries were moored at the pier of the Odessa Sea Station: the Spanish ESPS “Sella”, the Romanian “Ros Lupu Dinescu”, the Bulgarian BGS “Shkval” and the Italian ITS “Numana”, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.

These ships are patrolling in the Mediterranean Sea as part of the 2nd Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group “SNMCMG2”, and they plan to stay in Odessa for a week.

“It is planned that the group of ships will be visited by a NATO delegation led by Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, whose visit to Ukraine will begin in Odessa on October 30. Also, as part of the visit, a meeting is planned between the leadership of the Alliance and representatives of the Ukrainian Navy, in particular students of the academy,” the Ministry of Defense stated in a statement.
