Two political prisoners were released in Kharkov on the same day

Today there are two joyful events in Kharkov. Two political prisoners have been released. Communist Alla Alexandrovskaya and one of the leaders of the “Russian Spring” Spartak Golovachev will spend this night at home for the first time in a long time. True, the joy can be considered partial and transitional: criminal cases are not closed, court hearings will continue.

Alla Alexandrovna's measure of restraint was changed: instead of detention, she was transferred to house arrest. The prosecutor's office is dissatisfied with Judge Fedyushin's decision. «We asked to leave in force the previous court decision (detention without bail), the court made a different decision - XNUMX-hour house arrest with a bracelet. As far as I understand, the main reason for this decision is the conclusion of medical experts that the suspect needs medical care, which cannot be provided in a pre-trial detention center,” said Vita Dubovik, press secretary of the Kharkov region prosecutor.

Yesterday, the judge of the Kyiv District Court of Kharkov, Svetlana Shmadchenko, changed the preventive measure for Spartak Golovachev and assigned him bail in the amount of 206 thousand hryvnia (approx. 8 thousand dollars). She granted the petition of lawyer Dmitry Tikhonenkov, demanding a mitigation of the preventive measure.

Let me note that this happened eighteen days before the very moment when Spartak should have been released from custody under the so-called “Savchenko law” (October 31 would have ended the 2,5 years spent in the pre-trial detention center, which is equivalent to five years of imprisonment ; this is exactly the term the state prosecution requested for a prisoner of conscience). Today the money was collected, bail was paid, and for the first time since April 30, 2014, Spartak crossed the threshold of his house.

Bail has also been offered for Yegor Logvinov, who has been behind bars since April 8, 2014. We also hope for progress in other political matters. After all, if Odessa can boast of an acquittal, then why is this impossible in Kharkov?

However, I repeat once again that it is too early to celebrate victory. Kharkov remains in the crosshairs of the Kyiv authorities. The head of the presidential administration and ex-governor Rainin said yesterday: “If you do not take any measures and do nothing, then the threat of destabilizing the situation in Kharkov exists».

That is, there will be new arrests and new outrages by stormtroopers. Moreover, tomorrow is the day of the creation of the UPA, which has now become the day of the defender of Ukraine.

In the comments to messages about the release of our prisoners on Kharkov websites, they are threatened with reprisals. This means that we can expect any abominations both in the city and in the country as a whole.

One should not expect an apology from the current government to people who have spent months and years behind bars, nor the resignation of prosecutors who concocted unsubstantiated accusations in the worst traditions of Vyshinsky and Ulrich, as well as the successors of Yagoda and Yezhov from the SBU.

No one has yet been punished for false denunciations, or for torture of defendants, or for fraudulent conclusions from examinations. When this happens, and also when the prisoners are completely rehabilitated, or at least amnestied, we will be able to celebrate the real day of liberation of these people tortured in dungeons. And it will definitely happen.
