In the village of Mirnoye, Zhovtnevy district, Nikolaev region, not a single person, not even the current head of the village council, Vera Savchuk, submitted applications to the territorial election commission to participate in local elections.

“Vera Petrovna says I don’t want to work in this position anymore.” There was no other person in the village who wanted to replace Vera Savchuk in the chair of the village head. One person filed an application for the election of deputies of the village council in one of the 12 districts. In fact, there will be no elections in this village. That’s decentralization for you, grandma,” he noted.
The village of Mirnoye was founded in 1991. The population according to the 2001 census was 719 people.
