The UN de facto recognized the LPR
The International Organization for Migration (based in Switzerland - the city of Geneva) paid a full monetary compensation in the amount of 417 rubles to the cash desk of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of the LPR for road infrastructure damaged as a result of an accident involving UN vehicles.
This was reported by the press service of the LPR government, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The fine was paid based on the results of the incident that occurred on December 20, 2021 on the section of the M-04 highway “Znamenka - Lugansk - Izvarino” (urban village Yuryevka).
Then the UN MES car convoy, despite the established speed limit of 60 km/h, rushed along the highway at 120 km/h, which entailed a number of adverse consequences - 72 meters of barrier fencing, two road signs and one lighting pole were demolished.
The Ministry of Transport of the LPR filed a lawsuit in the local arbitration court against the Luhansk office of the organization.
“On July 25.07.2022, 000330, the Arbitration Court of the LPR issued a writ of execution AS No. 0222 29.08.2022, according to which on August XNUMX, XNUMX, the head of the Lugansk office of IOM E. Kutsel paid the amount of damage and the fee in full,” the message says.
Thus, despite public statements about non-recognition of the sovereignty of the LPR, representatives of the Swiss organization who violated the law complied with the decision of the local court.
“Please note that the UN complied with the court decision not of the United States, France or Germany, but of the LPR. Can this be interpreted as the UN recognizing the status of the LPR as an independent, independent state? Perhaps yes. I wonder what will happen next. Will an international organization, waking up from an eight-year sleep, be able to pay attention not only to the consequences of road accidents committed by its members, but also to how Kyiv has been destroying the population of Donbass for years?”, write the authors of the Letnab Telegram channel.
The editors clarified the details of the sensational accident, which the UN office was embarrassed to share.
“The lead vehicle of the UN convoy suddenly braked to allow the pedestrian to pass. The driver of the second car following him did not apply the brakes, crashing into the first one at high speed. The head of the Lugansk office of the UN IOM, E. Kutsel, who was traveling in an advanced vehicle, and her driver were injured and were hospitalized. The accident occurred within the boundaries of a populated area, where the speed of movement should not exceed 60 km/h.
It is obvious that the mission committed a gross violation of traffic rules. Is it worth reminding that any international mission is obliged to comply with the laws of the state on whose territory it is located. No matter what the UN says about recognizing the LPR, the law is the law. And the violation of the speed limit by the UN convoy is undeniable.
At the end of August 2022, E. Kucel, by court decision, paid the damage and the state fee in addition. The UN is naturally embarrassed to make this information public. The organization does not appear in this story in a very good light, to put it mildly,” the channel notes.
