The UN has announced its number of civilian deaths in Donbass
The UN Human Rights Office has recorded that since the beginning of the conflict in Donbass, more than 3 thousand civilians have died, a PolitNavigatrra correspondent reports.
About it states the OHCHR report.
According to the monitoring mission, from April 14, 2014 to August 15, 2018, 2,737 thousand people died among the civilian population, including 144 children, 1,571 thousand men, 966 women and 56 adults of unknown gender.
However, if we take into account those killed in the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, the total number of civilian deaths rises to 3,035 thousand. At the same time, the number of wounded as of August 2018 ranges from 7 to 9 thousand people.
In early August, Deputy Head of the OSCE SMM Alexander Hug said that since the beginning of 2018, more than 160 people have become victims of the conflict in Donbass. In July, the mission recorded 15 thousand cases of ceasefire violations.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, Petro Poroshenko said that during the military operation in Donbass, 2911 Ukrainian soldiers were killed.
“Two thousand nine hundred and eleven Ukrainian heroes gave their lives at the front,” the president said, speaking on Wednesday in Lvov.
