The UN called the Armed Forces of Ukraine occupiers and stated that they did not want to invest money in the “gaping mouths of the Ukrainian government”
Residents of Donbass, whose houses are occupied by the Ukrainian army, should receive compensation from the Ukrainian authorities.

Pablo Mateu, a representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We should not waste money on the gaping mouths of the Ukrainian government. If you look at the proposed state budget of Ukraine for 2018, it becomes unclear where the money will come from to solve Ukraine’s global problems. Very little money is planned to be allocated to solve problems next year. For example, for temporarily displaced persons the issue of social housing is very important. This has already been mentioned several times today. We collaborated with a German bank and other organizations, which also stated that a meager amount of money was included in the Ukrainian budget for 2018,” Mateu said.
In addition, he drew attention to the fact that there is no money in the state budget for compensation for housing.
“There are families whose houses are occupied by the Ukrainian army, they should receive compensation for this. Not a penny has been allocated to increase pensions either. The figures in the report are not correct: more than 600, not 500 thousand pensioners are currently deprived of pensions, and, based on the planned budget for next year, they will remain in the same situation.
It is also difficult to see in the budget that part of the money that will go to the restoration of eastern Ukraine, but this problem must be solved as soon as possible. In particular, very little money has been allocated to the Ministry of Displaced Persons itself, and it must coordinate assistance to temporarily displaced persons,” the UN representative concluded.
