Neil Walker, coordinator of the UN systems in Ukraine, said this in an interview with the Kyiv publication “Zerkalo Nedeli”.
“I usually don’t discuss the government, because I think it’s better and more efficient to work with it directly. But we, in particular, are very seriously concerned and have repeatedly raised the issue of ending social payments and pensions. In some cases, when people were removed from the payment lists, such actions even violated Ukrainian laws, not to mention international ones. And we insist that all citizens have the right to social benefits, regardless of where they live, whether they are pensioners or IDPs,” the UN representative emphasized.
The UN official also noted that today the international community is concerned about the position of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine regarding social payments and pensions.
