Zelensky’s UN speech saw a call for defeat
Speaking out at a meeting of the UN General Assembly, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky allowed himself to admit that peace in the country could come after the defeat of Ukraine.
Vladimir Gorbach, an analyst at the Institute of Euro-Atlantic Cooperation, spoke about this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I was especially alarmed during the president’s overseas tour by one remark that was made at a speech at the UN General Assembly, where the authors of his speech included a quote from Hemingway at the end, where he says that “victories do not lead to peace, because the winners continue run instead of stopping.” But the opposite part of this thesis is: do defeats lead to peace? It turns out like this, defeat comes out - this is peace, we will receive defeat and finally calm down? Is this what public opinion is leading towards? Naturally, NATO and the EU are simply not needed here, we just need defeat,” the Kiev expert concluded.
