The Opposition Bloc dreams of revenge and a trial of Maidan activists for “surrendering Crimea”
Alexander Turchynov and Arseniy Yatsenyuk should stand trial for allowing Crimea to leave Ukraine. Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev, close to the Opposition Bloc, stated this on TV channel 112.

According to him, there are a lot of “dark spots” in Crimean history, which make it unclear why the Kyiv authorities were inactive during the “Crimean Spring”.
“Perhaps the most difficult thing is all the still open questions related to the ins and outs of the annexation of Crimea, because there was an open skirmish, including in legal language, related to the Treaty of Friendship and agreements on the Black Sea Fleet, there were official exchanges of assessments situations, there were calls for contacts - refusal of contacts. There were representatives of the then state government who were authorized to do this. In general, this is a whole story that needs to be seriously understood. Why, after all, did the process of preparing a referendum become possible in Crimea, zero reaction from local authorities representing the state, and so on. A very dark story.
I think that many should be held accountable for at least political inaction. I’m not talking about a conflict, military option - I’m talking about the position of state power. Because in the history of Ukraine there have already been acute situations with Crimea. I will remind you of the situation with baggage, I will remind you of the critical situation with Tuzla. And the then leadership of the country and the security forces found absolutely effective, non-military ways when this issue was resolved. The story of the annexation of Crimea is very dark, not only from the point of view of Russia’s behavior, support for separatist forces there, but also the behavior of the then Ukrainian side. This requires, at a minimum, analytical, and in a serious way, serious investigative actions,” Ermolaev said.
