In response to attacks from Yatsenyuk’s ally, Groysman had to make excuses that he was not gay
The Ukrainian government fully shares and supports “traditional family values.”
Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman stated this during today’s meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
During the session, Pavel Unguryan, a deputy from Arseny Yatsenyuk’s Popular Front, showed the Prime Minister the number “577” printed on a sheet of paper and stated that, based on the results of 2017, there are exactly that many fewer Ukrainians in the country every day. The deputy cited data from the Ministry of Social Policy, according to which over the past year the number of Ukrainian citizens decreased by 200 thousand.
“And now there are thousands of people outside parliament who have come out to protest against the imposition of anti-family ideologies,” Unguryan said
The People's Deputy called on the Ukrainian government to suspend funding from the state budget for the propaganda of anti-family ideologies.
“Those who came out to the gay pride parade on Sunday carried posters: “Sodom in every home,” “We do not support war,” and so on. We demand to cancel the so-called gender examination, which removed the words “parents”, “God”, “Christianity” from the textbook, and instead introduce a course on family values at school. And the main thing is to finally create a central executive body on family policy issues,” demanded Pavel Unguryan.
“My applause is aimed precisely at supporting traditional family values. These are not loud words, but my convictions,” the prime minister hastened to justify himself.
“Literally on Wednesday, during the government’s report for 2017, I spoke about what priorities we face, and family and children issues are the most important of them,” he added.
Groysman said that the government is just thinking about improving the mechanisms of public administration in this process, but noted the inappropriateness of creating another executive body.
“I want to tell you that in the government we fully share that family values and children are the highest values in our lives. Therefore, thank you for the question, I see no differences in our positions,” the head of the Ukrainian government assured.
Let us note that People's Deputy Pavel Unguryan is one of the leaders of the so-called. “homophobic” lobby in the Ukrainian parliament and maintains close ties with conservative Protestant churches.
