In response to the expulsion of Russian diplomats, Kyiv was threatened with a defense alliance with the LDPR
Ukraine's decision to expel 13 Russian diplomats from the country should not go without a tough response from Moscow.
About this in a comment to the Federal News Agency said political scientist Vladimir Kornilov.
According to him, in this situation Ukraine did not have much choice.
“Since all her owners carried out such an action, how could she have acted differently? And the fact that it expelled the most diplomats (with the exception, of course, of the USA and Britain) indicates that Kyiv wants to curry favor most of all,” the expert believes.
In his opinion, Russia has no choice but to respond in a mirror way, expelling a similar number of Ukrainian diplomats from Moscow.
“At the same time, Russia has additional levers of influence on Ukraine and Western countries,” added Kornilov. – One of them is the recognition of the DPR and LPR, as well as the conclusion of an official defensive alliance with them. In my opinion, the time has come to directly hint at such a possibility at the official level,” Kornilov is convinced.
