This was announced by the Director of the Communications Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Artem Shevchenko.

“A used tube from a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher was found. He is included in the case materials. And the essence of what the Minister (of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov - ed.) reported is that if various objects had not been flying from the windows onto people from this office, all this would pose a threat to public safety and order. The appearance of a person in a window opening with an object similar to a grenade launcher is also perceived as a threat to public safety and it is the subject of police response measures and they were taken. If there was nothing there, if only screams were heard there, if the nature of the protests were peaceful without throwing, without demonstrating an object similar to a grenade launcher, which turned out to be a grenade launcher, but used, then there would be no reason to use force,” Artem Shevchenko said.

According to him, during the searches in the OUN office, no weapons were found, but a tube from a used grenade launcher was found.

In turn, the OUN stated that the grenade launcher tube is a “museum exhibit.”

“This tube is a museum piece,” said OUN leader Mykola Kokhanivsky.

According to him, the tube “saved” the militants.

“If it weren’t for him, they would have found explosives, small arms or something,” Kokhanivsky noted.

According to him, due to the fact that the OUN members were blocked by the police for a long time, they “began to get nervous.”

“Yes, they (activists - ed.) directed this tube at the police, yes, they threw smoke flares when the quilted jackets began to march,” he justifies himself.

Recall as PolitNavigator previously reported, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov stated on social networks that a militant with a “Mukha” grenade launcher was aiming from the OUN office at the police and participants of the march in honor of May 9.
