In Paris, Ukraine was forced to confirm its obligations regarding Donbass
One of the main achievements at the Normandy format meeting held in Paris is that the Ukrainian side once again signed up for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements.
Political scientist Alexey Chesnakov, close to Russian Presidential Assistant Vladislav Surkov, stated this on Vesti FM radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, Ukraine will be forced to comply with them in order to avoid problems from the West.
“Over the past few days, Zelensky has repeatedly, both personally and through his representatives, and, in particular, through Foreign Minister Prystaiko, his assistant Andriy Ermak, said that Ukraine is ready to abandon the Minsk agreements. Now Ukraine has confirmed that it will implement the Minsk agreements.
This was fundamentally important, because while such a document did not exist, there was always a danger that the Ukrainian side could withdraw from Minsk and at the same time nothing would happen to it for it. Now we have clearly defined obligations and understand that if Ukraine suddenly decides to meander again, not only Moscow will have complaints about its position,” Chesnakov said.
