Mass graves desecrated in the park near the Verkhovna Rada - authorities do not react (PHOTO)
Kyiv, March 24 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – In the Mariinsky Park of Kyiv, not far from the Verkhovna Rada, a monument erected on the mass grave of participants in the October Uprising of 1917 was destroyed. The red granite urn that previously crowned the pedestal has disappeared, and the slab with the inscription “To the Heroes of the Great October Socialist Revolution - workers and soldiers who died a heroic death in the battles for Soviet power on November 11-13 (October 29-31)” was smashed to pieces. Decorative elements on the sides of the monument were also destroyed.

Utility workers told a Navigator correspondent that this happened after President Yanukovych left Kyiv, and the territory near the Verkhovna Rada was taken under control by Maidan units.
This is not the first case of desecration of burials in the Mariinsky Park. Earlier, Maidan activists painted in the colors of the UPA a monument erected on the mass grave of participants in the January Uprising of 1918, which was first reported by Maidan activist Tatyana Chernovol, who was appointed by the new government as the head of the still uncreated Anti-Corruption Bureau, in her blog in the UP.
