The default in Ukraine has already occurred. This is evidenced by the fact that the authorities are trying to restructure debts. This was stated on TV channel 112 by former Minister of Finance of Ukraine Viktor Pinzennik, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from Vitali Klitschko’s “UDAR” party.

According to Pinzennik, Economy Minister Natalya Yaresko failed negotiations with creditors, but restructuring still would not have saved Ukraine even if the negotiations had been successful.

“I think that the main problem that Ukraine must fight today is eliminating the causes of the economic crisis. Debt restructuring does not solve the problem that led to this, the budget deficit. But everyone believes that if the debts are restructured, then all the problems will be removed - nothing like that. The reason is that the country lives in such a way that it spends more than it earns,” Pinzennik assures.
