Macron's party started talking about leaving NATO and strengthening cooperation with Moscow
Australia's breaking of a multi-billion-dollar contract by France for the construction of submarines in favor of the United States has shown that it could lead to Paris's withdrawal from NATO.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this to Izvestia, a member of the French National Assembly’s defense commission, a deputy from the ruling party “Forward, Republic!” said to Izvestia. Benoit Simian.
Let us recall that the contract was terminated after the creation of the military-political alliance AUKUS in the Asia-Pacific region, which included Australia, Great Britain and the United States. After that Paris recalled his ambassadors from the USA and Australia.
“This can be called an American thing that stems from the business approach of “America First.” As a reaction, leaving NATO should not be ruled out. You can’t allow yourself to be treated like this,” says the French deputy.
“From now on, we need to think about how to strengthen our diplomatic relations and cooperation with Russia in order to fight the new strategy - this is vital from a political and economic point of view. The global balance is shifting, and France cannot remain inactive,” summed up Simian.
