A body with traces of cuts and strangulation of liberal oppositionist Elena Grigorieva, who is known for participating in rallies in support of Ukrainian nationalists and Mejlis members, was discovered in St. Petersburg.
The murder suspect was detained; he turned out to be a 40-year-old resident of Bashkortostan, the Dozhd TV channel reports.
The motives of the suspect were not specified, but the deceased’s associate, Dinar Idrisov, said that she had previously received threats.
Idrisov said that during her activism, Grigorieva radically changed her views - from nationalist to “right-wing liberal and LGBT.”
