The Pochaev Lavra disowned the performance of “forbidden songs”
The press service of the UOC reported that on Sunday, during a prayer service in the Pochaev Lavra (the largest monastery in the Ternopil region in Western Ukraine, which until recently maintained unity with the Russian Orthodox Church), a “provocation” occurred - some of those present began to perform “forbidden songs.”
The UOC does not say what kind of songs these are. However, a few days ago, something similar happened in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, where nationalists filmed how parishioners in the church after a prayer service were singing a song that mentioned Russia in a positive way. Subsequently, the video spread across Ukrainian TV, the SBU conducted a search in the Lavra, the top of the Kyiv Metropolis immediately found the guilty clergyman and “surrendered” him, but this did not save the UOC from repression - the Security Council of Ukraine decided to begin the destruction of the church structure.
Therefore, most likely, the new incident will also be used by the Ukrainian regime, which has long planned to transfer the Pochaev Lavra to the schismatics.
The abbot of the monastery, Metropolitan Vladimir, stated that he was praying “for the protection of the monastery from all evil.”
