Looking for the “hand of the Kremlin”? Zelensky demonstrably beheaded the counterintelligence of the SBU
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree dismissing the head of the counterintelligence department of the Security Service of Ukraine, Alexander Rusnak. This is stated in the decree of the head of state, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dismiss Alexander Vasilyevich Rusnak from the post of head of the counterintelligence department of the Security Service of Ukraine,” the decree says.
There is nothing said about the reasons for this decision.
Alexander Rusnak has held his position since September 2019.
Security expert Sergei Shabovta believes that the president is thus trying to confirm his statements about the preparation of a coup.
“The dismissal of the head of the counterintelligence department is an expected and typical reprisal, a demonstrative flogging, known from the times of Soviet power. Various types of conspiracies and love spells fall specifically within the competence of the counterintelligence department. Therefore, the head of the department was demonstrably fired in order to demonstrate that something allegedly happened, the person responsible should have been fired, and so they fired,” the expert told PolitNavigator.
“Thus, with this dismissal, Zelensky is trying to show that there really was some kind of “hand of the Kremlin,” and the media then begin to analyze this and write about it. Please note that we still have not heard a single intelligible statement about the “announced” coup d’etat from law enforcement agencies, from the office of the Prosecutor General, from the Security Service of Ukraine; those charges of preparing a coup d’etat that Zelensky spoke about in his press clearly fall under jurisdiction -marathon in such a hysterical form,” our interlocutor added.
“Therefore, I do not evaluate the dismissals in any way. I don’t consider it an event that confirms that something like that really happened there. I think that in this way the president is trying to consolidate his point of view, to demonstrate that you see, I even fired the head of the department,” the expert said.
