In Poland, mass layoffs of guest workers to avoid paying wages during quarantine
In Poland, due to the coronavirus, workers are being fired en masse so as not to pay them wages during quarantine.
Ukrainian migrant worker Gennady Dubenkov stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Dubenkov, owners are closing their enterprises en masse, foreshadowing six months of downtime.
“On the one hand, the authorities introduced a certain package of financial assistance to enterprises, but on the other hand, this did not cause any positive emotions, because companies are now in a very difficult situation. And these are absolutely all companies - both private and public companies. I have contact with people who work in many industries - almost every one has a lot of people laid off. All shopping centers and cinemas were closed.
Let me give an example of companies that deal with public events and exhibitions. They can predict that for the next six months they will have no work at all. These are companies that affect a very large number of people and they simply have no way out,” Dubenkov said.
